Dua for Entering the Masjid

# Dua for Entering the Masjid
## Arabic Text
**اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ**
## Transliteration
*Allāhumma-ftaḥ lī abwāba raḥmatik*
## Translation
"O Allah, open for me the doors of Your mercy."
## When to Recite
This beautiful dua should be recited when **entering the masjid (mosque)** with your right foot first. It is a Sunnah practice that helps us remember the purpose of entering Allah's house - to seek His mercy, worship Him, and draw closer to Him.
## The Wisdom Behind This Dua
When we enter the masjid, we are entering a sacred space dedicated to the worship of Allah. By asking Allah to open the doors of His mercy for us, we acknowledge:
- Our need for Allah's mercy in all our affairs
- That the masjid is a place where mercy descends

## Complete Etiquette
**When entering:**
1. Enter with your right foot first
2. Recite this dua
3. Proceed to pray two rak'ahs (Tahiyyat al-Masjid) if it's not a prohibited time
**When leaving:**
Recite: *Allāhumma innī as'aluka min faḍlik* (اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ)
"O Allah, I ask You from Your bounty"
